Introduction
Welcome to the AI Capabilities in EventON, a powerful integration for EventON that leverages artificial intelligence via OpenAI to streamline your event content creation process. With this, you can generate and enhance event titles, subtitles, descriptions, and even craft sample X (Twitter) posts directly from the event edit page.
This guide will walk you through the setup process, explain how to use the features, and provide tips to maximize its potential for your EventON events.
Requirements
- EventON Plugin: The core EventON plugin must be installed and activated on your WordPress site.
- OpenAI API Key: A valid API key from OpenAI with sufficient credits is required to use the AI features.
AI Features
The AI features in EventON supercharges your event management by offering the following capabilities:
- AI-Powered Content Creation
Generate event titles, subtitles, descriptions, and X posts effortlessly using OpenAI’s language models. - Three Content Options Per Request
For each request, EventON AI provides three unique content suggestions, giving you flexibility to choose the best fit. - Various Enhancement Styles
Customize the tone and style of generated content with options like:- Generate (new content from scratch)
- Rewrite (improve existing text)
- Engaging, Creative, Casual, Enthusiastic, Professional, Concise, or Call-to-action
- Accessible from Event Edit Page
The AI Assist tool is conveniently located in the bottom right corner of the event edit page, allowing seamless integration into your workflow. - User Role Permissions
Control which WordPress user roles (e.g., Administrator, Editor) can access the AI features via settings. - Support for Multiple Language Models
Choose from various ChatGPT models based on your efficiency needs (configured via OpenAI API settings). - AI Usage Tracking
Monitor an estimated count of OpenAI usage within your site, with the option to reset this data as needed.
Setting Up AI
Follow these steps to install and configure the AI for EventON in your WordPress site:
Step 1: Obtain an OpenAI API Key
- Sign up or log in to your account at openai.com.
- Navigate to the API section and create a new API key.
- Add credits to your OpenAI account (e.g., $5 or more) to cover AI request costs (approximately $0.01 per request).
- Copy the API key to your clipboard.
Step 2: Configure EventON AI Settings
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to EventON > Settings > Third Party APIs.
- Locate the OpenAI Section.
- Click Activate AI on Events
- Paste your OpenAI API key into the designated field.
- (Optional) Select a preferred ChatGPT model for content generation (e.g., GPT-3.5 or GPT-4, depending on availability and your needs).
- Under User Permissions, you can choose which user roles can access the AI features. By default administrator will have access.
- Click Save Changes.
Step 3: Verify Setup
- Go to Events > Add New or edit an existing event.
- On the bottom right corner of the event edit page look for the AI Assist button.
- Click it to ensure the AI interface loads correctly. If it doesn’t, double-check your API key and credits.
Using AI to Generate Event Content
Once set up, AI is ready to assist you in creating and enhancing event content. Here’s how to use it:
Accessing AI Assist
- Open an existing event or create a new one via Events > Add New in your WordPress dashboard.
- On the event edit page, locate the AI Assist button in the bottom right corner.
- Click the button to open the AI interface.

Generating Content
- In the AI Assist panel, select the type of content you want to generate:
- Title: Create a catchy event title.
- Subtitle: Generate a concise tagline or subtitle.
- Description: Write a detailed event description.
- X Post: Craft a sample post for X (Twitter).
- Choose a style (e.g., Creative, Professional, Call-to-action), that will fetch three content options from OpenAI based on your event content.

Applying or Copying Content
- Review the three options provided in the AI Assist panel.
- To use a suggestion, click Apply next to your preferred option—it will automatically populate the corresponding field on the event edit page (e.g., Title, Description).
- Alternatively, click Copy to manually paste the text elsewhere.
Enhancing Existing Content
- If you’ve already entered a title, subtitle, or description, select Rewrite or another enhancement style in the AI Assist panel.
- That will generate three improved versions of your existing text.
- Apply or copy the enhanced content as needed.
Tips for Best Results
- Provide Context: The more details you enter in the event fields (e.g., title and event description), the better the AI-generated content will align with your event.
- Experiment with Styles: Try different styles to find the tone that suits your audience (e.g., Casual for informal events, Professional for business gatherings).
- Monitor Credits: Keep an eye on your OpenAI account balance to avoid interruptions—check usage data in the EventON settings > Third Party APIs > OpenAI.
- Reset Usage Data: If you want a fresh start, reset the AI usage counter in the settings (this doesn’t affect your OpenAI credits).
Troubleshooting
- AI Assist Not Loading: Ensure your OpenAI API key is valid and has sufficient credits. Verify the key in EventON > Settings > Third Party APIs.
- No Content Generated: Check your internet connection and confirm the selected ChatGPT model is supported by your API key.
- Permission Denied: If a user can’t access AI Assist, confirm their role has permission in the addon settings.
